West Brom kept their chances of qualifying for the Championship play-offs alive and eliminated Norwich's hopes, as they rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over the Canaries at The Hawthorns. The match was a must-win for both teams, with Coventry and Millwall having already secured their spots in the top six.

Norwich took the lead in the 41st minute through Josh Sargent's precise finish, but Conor Townsend levelled the score with a stunning free-kick just before half-time. In the second half, Jed Wallace scored the decisive goal by deflecting Townsend's cross past Angus Gunn.

West Brom's triumph propels them to eighth place, only two points adrift of the top six, with the final day of the season approaching on May 8th. On the other hand, Norwich sits in 12th place, six points behind the top six, unable to challenge for a play-off spot.

Both teams demonstrated a lot of promise in the first half, with plenty of fluid attacks. Norwich had some near misses with Sargent missing two decent opportunities, while Gunn denied Brandon Thomas-Asante after he latched onto a beautiful ball through the centre of the field.
